On Tuesday March 19th the Women (and Men) of Women in Design (WiD) met at Teammates showroom to learn the Japanese art of folding paper, origami. The flower we created was a lily, which is an intermediate origami fold, so we broke into groups and went step by step, folding multiple sheets of paper for each step. Everyone took a few of their flowers home and the rest were used to put together a bouquet on the recycled SIP panel from the Habitat for Humanity build day. This is our way of “paying it forward” to the Habitat project – using leftover materials to create a unique piece of art that will look good in any environment. These also can be a memory keep-sake, by making the flowers out of pictures from a build day.
