2019 8×8 Speaker – Mary Helen Pratte

Ms. Pratte has a Master of Fine Arts degree in 3 Dimensional Design and a Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, she was awarded a Rotary Graduate Fellowship and studied furniture design at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart. She has practiced interior design for over 35 years. For ten years, Ms. Pratte was the director of the Interior Design Program at UTSA and interior design faculty at UT Austin for six year.
Recognizing a void in the furniture industry for finely crafted metal products, she founded EKITTA in 1991, an interior furnishings company. She has developed furniture, lighting and other interior products for American manufacturers, which have received many awards such as Best of NEOCON. Due to her contributions and recognitions in the profession of interior design, she was made a Fellow Member of the International Interior Design Association.
