Education: BS Engineering Civil Specialty with a minor in Public Affairs from Colorado School of Mines
Dual MA Urban Regional Planning/Public Administration from University of Colorado Denver
In Progress: PhD in Geography, Planning and Design at University of Colorado Denver
Current Profession: Lecturer and PhD Candidate at CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning.
Bio: I am a third generation Coloradan and a Denver native and have been involved with WID since 2009. My career started with civil engineering but has evolved towards urban planning and climate adaptation policy. I am working on a PhD in the Planning, Geography and Design program and CU Denver, as well as lecturing part time for MURP courses. I am currently writing my dissertation on land use policy as a tool for disaster and climate risk management.
Other Activities: I have two teenagers and three dogs who all keep me plenty busy in addition to school work. I also am the former chair and serve on the Mayors Pedestrian Advisory Committee for Denver. I am an advocate for safer streets for biking and walking.
Commitment to WiD: To promote women in all different design professions to collaborate and educate one another on different aspects of the built environment.
