FREE MATERIALS for upcycling…courtesy of ZeroLandfill Denver.  2 Days Only!

You will be received with a smile and sleep better at night!

If that isn’t enough to get a creative soul interested to learn more, perhaps this will help:

  • ZeroLandfill is a national initiative that is committed to reducing pressure on local landfill capacity specifically targeting Architecture, Engineering and Interior Design firms and their material samples.
  • In their initial effort this past Spring, the local chapter, ZeroLandfill Denver, diverted 9000 pounds of waste from landfills. WOW!
  • In their second effort, (happening now) the materials have already been collected and just need to be picked up for upcycling.
  • Hundreds of pounds of ceramic tiles, carpet samples, binders, fabric, etc. are waiting to be claimed and have their lives extended so they don’t unnecessarily head off to the landfill.

The pickup location is Design Materials Will Call, 10498 East 49th Avenue, Denver on Friday, October 12th or 19th from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM.

If you’re hesitant to think that a ceramic tile, a paint sample, even a binder could become something greater don’t take my word for it.  Let the projects speak for themselves:

Jeni O’Brien, (also Membership Committee Chair of WiD) is part of the Core Team of ZLD that helped initiate the efforts in Denver.  "The most rewarding things about being a part of Zero Landfill Denver is meeting creative people and seeing their ideas on how to upcycle products,” O’Brien said. “It is refreshing to see how many people are interested in participating, whether it is through donation or pick up.  Obviously, the amount of material that is directed away from our landfills is impressive as well.”

Please spread the word.  Helping out couldn’t be easier.  We hope to see you there!
