Join us at the new TARRA private offices and membership work club - Aislynn Van Clief from Fudo-An Tea and Wellness Services will lead us in a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony to bring mindfulness into 2023.
How do you want to approach the new year? In these ever-changing times, it can be easy to get lost in the hustle, and let our work/life balance slip. Aislynn will talk about how tea ceremony can give us a repose in the midst of chaos, and show you how the historical art of making matcha can teach us mindfulness in everyday life.
We will open with a brief history and philosophy of chanoyu, discuss Japanese zen principles, and receive instruction on tea room etiquette as a guest. We'll follow with a brief meditation exercise to bring awareness to our senses, then all experience a traditional usucha (thin tea) ceremony together. Guests will feel far more centered, aware, and zen than when they entered the door.
Guests will receive a traditional Japanese sweet and a sample of matcha tea.

Aislynn has studied Urasenke Chanoyu for eleven years. It was in New York City that she began connecting the fundamental principles of mindfulness found in tea ceremony to the fast-paced hustle and bustle of startups, offices, and even private parties. Since moving to Denver she founded Fudo-An Tea and Wellness, where she brings tea ceremony workshops, lectures, and matcha education to nearly any venue or event.
